Happy 5th Birthday, Lily!! πŸ΄πŸ΄

I feel like I just wrote the post about Lily’s unicorn birthday party last year, but here I am again, fingers to keyboard, and about to share an explosion of colour balloons and celebration.

In case you’re new around here, my sister and I have found a new hobby which we are somewhat obsessed with: balloon arches!  And balloon arches, of course, bode well to children’s themed birthday parties:

Lily is born!
One! (Pink theme)
Two! (Lady bug theme)
Three!  (Butterfly theme)
Four!  (Unicorn theme)

And this year’s theme Lily chose My Little Pony, which was perfect to dust off the cobwebs from the arch and get blowin’!

Time is an incredible thing with kiddos, it’s just amazing to watch them grow and become their own little person. Lily is full of energy and life and is funny! Sometimes we have no idea how she even thought of some of her jokes.

On her actual birthday we went out for a nice family dinner. I gifted her this pink boom box, so she can listen to CD stories in her room (she’s now allowed screens yet). (I loved buying her this gift, as I remember being a kid and listening to my tape recorder under my pillow for hours.)

And then on Saturday was her… PARTY!  Truthfully most of the kids didn’t care at all about all the balloons and pink and even the arch, they were just so excited to see each other and play games, but nonetheless, it was fun putting together.  (As a pro-tip: we purchase all the balloons ahead of time, as it’s so much cheaper then to get them blown up.)

For entertainment we had a craft hour where everyone got a heart box and could draw and decorate their box.

Please take a gander at the bottom right photo in the collage below and note how they made up my entire suitcase home!! My sister couldn’t find them in Canada, and so I won Sister of the Year! :)

We also played a lot of games (like pass the parcel, Simon Says, etc)

And had CAKE! This year a little store on the Danforth created this beauty for us!

Every year my sister gathers items for the loot bags, and this year’s ones did not disappoint. Down to the My Little Pony ribbon, everything was so cute.

Lily received a Hatchimal (which I had never heard of), but WOW!!! We all warmed it up and waiting for it to hatch. Just amazing!

The day was so busy and bright, but as my sister and I were saying, there’s only three more of these over-the-top-silly birthday parties left, before the girls grow up, so we’re going to continue doing it while we can.

Happy Birthday Lily Grace, we love you so much!!
